To my two precious daughters,

We had the best day. Now it is time to rest so we can it all again tomorrow.

Motherhood was not something I easily fell into. I hit the ground running. I have worked so hard and prayed so hard with and for these precious girls that I have. One day I expressed my guilt at feeling like I always need to work with them and how I wish we could just relax without the pressure of appointments, therapies, and what the future will hold.

Emma's speech therapist shared with me a quote that has lasted with me. "Some children grow like wildflowers. The grow under/in any conditions, and some are like roses. They need a lot of care and pruning to grow."

It freed me a little to see them as roses and to stop comparing their growth as well as my experience in motherhood. Not every day is easy but it is filled with moments of joy. Joy in the little things. This song is for my two rosebuds. Red is my eldest's favorite color and pink is my youngest's. Emma has many disabilities and remains so happy & a bright light. Noah Blue is the sassiest sweetest bossiest most thoughtful girl.
